Paul Jeffrey (Jeff) Quigley

This obsession of mine.

I started my career immediately out of high school in Ottawa, Ontario in 1988. After being accepted to three art and design colleges I was approached by a local company and asked to join them as a full-time illustrator in their art department. Not having the financial security to attend college, I opted to take the job, earn money, and get a jump on my profession. Almost 20 years later I am now the Senior Regional Art Director for a US based advertising agency.

Being an Art Director can be a great job. Sure, like any job it has its share off ups-and-downs and good days and bad, but overall it's a rewarding profession. Part of that reward is seeing an idea begin as some jotted notes and on paper or email to end up a fully executed print and web campaign. However, the "meat" in the middle of that campaign sandwich can be a long and drawn out process of retakes and revisions and hair pulling late nights.

So why photography? Why now? All my career I've honed my skills and each one, the illustrator, cartoonist, graphic designer, and art director ultimately answers to the client. With my personal photography, I share and offer the the images that I want to pass on. I've directed more photo shoots than I can begin to count but in the end the final say is never mine. During those times I've worked with some great photographers, so I guess that's where my interest began. It was only recently that I decided to share my passion and to make a hobby a profession.

It was in 2007 that I decided to roll up the carpet in Toronto and move out East, to Nova Scotia, to pursue this obsession and begin a new chapter in my life. I wanted to share in images the beauty of the East Coast and all the magnificent scenery I remembered as a child growing up here. As my travels throughout Atlantic Canada continues, so to will my portfolio of images grow. I hope you enjoy them.
